We offer a wide range of expertise to support client needs for both new and existing transportation structures.The RoleThornton Tomasetti's Transportation practice is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader to join our New York, NY office. As a Bridge Inspection Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and reliability of critical structures throughout the region.The ResponsibilitiesLead and perform biennial, special, and in-depth bridge inspections.Document inspection findings through clear, accurate, and timely reports.Conduct structural analysis and load rating of bridges and related structures.Respond to emergency structural inspection requests.Collaborate with agencies such as NYSDOT, NYCDOT, PANYNJ, and MTA entities to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.Provide mentorship and guidance to inspection team members.The RequirementsProfessional Engineer (PE) license in New York required; New Jersey PE license a plus.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Bridge Inspection Team Leader.Familiarity with agencies such as NYSDOT, NYCDOT, PANYNJ, and MTA (B&T, NYCT, MNR, LIRR); strong preference for local project experience.Hands-on experience in both bridge inspection and design.Strong coordination, communication, and organizational skills; collaborative team player.Willingness to travel daily within the New York metropolitan area.Proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation preferred, but not pensationThe rate for this position generally is $150,000 - $187,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law.
