Position Summary Under general direction, the Porter A will primarily be responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of Columbia University apartment buildings and grounds area. Responsibilities Specific job duties will be to clean and maintain building and grounds complex--elevators, stairways, corridors, windows, floors, laundry rooms, vacant apartments and offices (occupied, or unoccupied), etc; Trim trees and shrubs; fertilize, seed and mow lawn; Sweep and hose sidewalks, and remove snow and spread salt as needed. The incumbent will also perform other related duties as assigned. Heavy lifting may be required. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency certification required.
