Infrastructure Engineer II

Description We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer II to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing complex systems, ensuring high performance and reliability across various IT infrastructure components. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining secure and efficient systems. Responsibilities: u2022 Lead the identification and resolution of infrastructure-related issues, acting as the primary point of contact during crises. u2022 Perform installations and upgrades of operating systems and software packages, ensuring compliance with IT policies and procedures. u2022 Design, configure, and test systems such as telecom networks, servers, security tools, and monitoring software. u2022 Participate in rotating on-call support to address service outages or technical issues during both standard and non-standard business hours. u2022 Investigate recurring system problems and propose configuration changes or updates to enhance stability and performance. u2022 Develop testing and implementation plans for infrastructure upgrades, collaborating with other engineers to ensure seamless execution. u2022 Establish and maintain business practices for system management, data backup, recovery, and archival processes. u2022 Monitor system performance to achieve optimal functionality and reliability. u2022 Travel occasionally to other company locations for training or project support. u2022 Execute additional duties as required to support the team and organizational goals. Requirements u2022 Advanced expertise in complex VoIP environments and strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory, and network devices. u2022 Solid understanding of enterprise server security technologies, networking protocols, and authentication schemes. u2022 Exceptional organizational and analytical skills to address and resolve complex technical challenges. u2022 Ability to remain composed and effective during high-pressure situations. u2022 Proven experience in managing multiple projects with strong prioritization skills. u2022 Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach. u2022 In-depth knowledge of SAN-based storage solutions, Cisco network operating systems, and VMware virtualization technologies. u2022 Familiarity with system configuration management, backup technologies, and recovery processes.
