Mechanical Assembler

Assembles and modifies standard or custom electrical parts systems and apparatus to develop assembly methods and techniques for use by production workers performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING, OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED: u2022 Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings and receives verbal instructions regarding work assignments. u2022 Utilize handheld tools. u2022 Aligns and assembles components made from sheet metal, structural steel, and cable tray. u2022 Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies. u2022 Responsible for drilling and tapping various electrical equipment such as LV/MV MCC's, Switchgear, UPS's, and other associated equipment. u2022 Operates lifting devices such as Toe Jacks, Overhead Crane, and Forklifts. u2022 Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. u2022 Examines parts for defects such as pinholes, chips, or dents in material. u2022 Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements. u2022 Replaces defective components. u2022 Assembles prototype units.
