The incumbent p articipates in a variety of administrative services essential to direction and operation of a department. Performs related duties as required. This recruitment will be used to fill multiple positions within the Nashville Fire Department. Typical Duties + Processes payroll. + Assists vendors and general public with inspection/investigation reports, permit applications and related documents. + Processes and maintains personnel or other vital records. + Processes permits, alarm registration for the Fire Marshalu2019s Office. + Assists with improving workflow in office operations. + Maintains crucial records and disseminates information, as necessary. + Participates in coordination of various administrative programs. + Participates in development of financial, personnel, safety, and/or material acquisition programs. + May devise office forms. + May prepare requisites and approve purchase orders. + Answers and re-routes all incoming telephone calls. + Provides customer service. + Researches public records requests. + Maintains electronic filing system. + Processes credit card payments. + Reconciles accounts receivable reports. + Prepares related reports as needed. + Processes R12 HR Activities. + Monitors staffing software (TeleStaff) for work code issues. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree plus one (1) year of professional experience in an administrative, financial, technical, or related field. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education (1:1 Ratio) Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply. Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
