In this role, you will drive sales growth by providing tailored service solutions and product offerings from all divisions of Farwest Steel. This role is responsible for managing customer relationships through prompt and accurate quoting, order processing, and proactive communication. By leveraging deep product knowledge and cross-departmental collaboration, the Outside Sales Representative ensures exceptional customer satisfaction, maximizes business opportunities, and supports the overall success of the sales team.Key Responsibilities for this role include:Sales & Customer Relationship ManagementGrow sales volume and market share in the assigned territory.Build strong partnerships with the existing customer base, focusing on increasing customer profitability and deepening the relationship beyond transactions.Expand value-added services through vertical integration and supply programs.Actively seek and educate new accounts on Farwests services and capabilities.Customer Service & Internal CoordinationReceive and process incoming customer calls, quotes, and orders.Review customer specifications to ensure accurate pricing and fulfillment.Maintain knowledge of current inventory across all Farwest municate with the warehouse, operations, credit, and inside sales teams to ensure satisfaction and order accuracy.Follow up with customers regarding pricing, quality, and delivery.Strategic Market DevelopmentAnalyze existing supply chain issues and develop tailored solutions to support customer operations.Collaborate closely with Inside Sales to optimize service and elevate the customer experience.Research competitors to identify strategic opportunities to increase market share.Provide market information to customers to help guide their business decisions.Problem Solving & Partnership ManagementActively engage in solving issues with internal teams and customers.Assume responsibility for clear and prompt communication across all phases of service delivery.Minimum Qualifications:Previous sales experience in steel, manufacturing, or a related field.Strong knowledge of steel products through service centers, fabrication shops, mills, or manufacturing environments.High school diploma or GED.Valid drivers license.Familiarity with computers and sales performance tracking tools.Solid mathematical skills.Preferred QualificationsBA/BS in Business, Communications, or a related field.Experience reading and understanding blueprints.Experience with data entry and use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).Proficiency in professional telephone and customer service techniques.Professional CompetenciesStrong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.Professional, courteous demeanor with both customers and colleagues.High attention to detail and adaptability in various social and business settings.Location Requirement Candidate must live within the assigned territory or be willing to relocate.
