We put the unity in 'opportunity.'Opportunity Snapshot:Compensation: $70-75.00/hourLocation: Meraux, LADuration: 12 months+Work Schedule: M-F / 40 hours+Benefits: Comprehensive insurance and 401(k), PTO and holidaysConstructing, Maintaining, and assigning Loop numbers, Instrument tags, Junction Boxes, Marshalling Cabinets, I/O Cards, HPMs, Remote I/O cabinets and associated wiring assistance to inside and outside contractorsPrepare accurate and complete drawings using practical design knowledgeCoordinate with other disciplines and assist lead engineer and/or designer to ensure effective quality productKeep up to date on new design processes, modeling, drafting techniques, and IMS and standardsField walk outs, drawing searches and retrievals, creating construction scope documents and revisions to drawings via redline mark ups with some draftingDevelop and recommend improvements in design standards to lower cost and improve work quality and facilitate maintenanceInvestigate and resolve unusual design and field engineering problems by devising new approaches or applying existing criteria in novel waysEnsure that effective methods and design/engineering techniques are usedResolve project issues and problemsProvide technical guidance to co-workersContribute to a team environment by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive mannerEnsure alignment between all disciplines that are involved with 3D CAD to prepare for model reviews and issue deliverablesPerforming job duties safely and championing the safety of othersPerform other duties as assigned5 years of experience in instrument designProficient in the following software: SPI and AutoCAD. 5 Years of SPI experience2 or more years of experence working in refining and /or chemicals industry in the field of electrical engineeringAbility to generate 3D model using 3D CAD and Smartplant 3DAbility to integrate new technologies into daily work processesExperience working with other disciplines understanding their interface requirementsExperience with design and/or construction of heavy industrial facilities desirableIn depth knowledge of Instrumentation standards, methods and practices requiredBasic design and construction knowledge requiredFamiliar with PIP StandardsWorking knowledge of NEC, IEC, ISA & IEEE design complying with industry standardsMust possess a valid driver's licenseGood communication skills, both written and verbal, are requiredLegally authorized to work in the United States on a regular, full-time basis without restrictionsThe Bergaila Way:The Bergaila Companies is a nationally recognized leader in providing staffing services to all sectors of the energy industry.
