In this position, you would serve in a lead role in the planning, analysis, design, and detailing of bridge and other transportation related structural projects, as well as helping to lead and mentor our technical staff.ResponsibilitiesManages, develops, organizes, and implements structural planning, analysis, preliminary and final design document preparation for bridge/ transportation projectsParticipates in project decisions regarding technical approach, costs, and schedulingSupports client relationships, visibility, and business developmentDirects and mentors team members in the development of design plans, technical oversight, specifications, design calculations, load ratings, cost estimates, reports, final bid packages, etc.Task management/project deliveryReviews plans, specifications, reports, and analyses to meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirementsSkills and Attributes Extensive knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in bridge design and constructionExperience and in-depth knowledge of DOT bridge design standards and AASHTO design codesExperience in NHDOT bridge design standards is a strong plusStrong task management and project delivery skillsDemonstrated excellence in verbal presentations and technical writingTeam oriented with strong capability to work independentlyRobust technical and critical thinking skillsDetail-oriented and quality-focusedMotivated to lead and mentor othersKnowledge of one or more structural engineering software (AASHTOWare, LARSA 4D, MDX, SP Column, MerlinDASH, Mathcad)Experience in either AutoCAD and MicroStation is a strong plusQualifications8-11 years experience requiredBS in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred) (1-2 years of experience can be substituted for a master's degree)PE license requiredExperience completing transportation studies, design reports, final design documents and developing contract plans, in conformity with accepted engineering standards and procedures including AASHTO & NHDOT other DOT’s.Independent experience developing bridge design and detailing (steel, concrete, prestressed concrete), and seismic analysisWe are VHB!We’re an inspired and innovative team of engineers, scientists, planners, and designers who partner with clients in the transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments.
