View the comprehensive information about the competitive benefits package on our careers page then scroll down toCENTERS Benefits(click link to view).The Facility Services Technician is the primary caretaker of the facility and is responsible for the custodial, janitorial, preventative maintenance, and repair of all areas, furniture, fixtures, and equipment within the Recreation Center.Essential FunctionsResponsible for upkeep, cleanliness, and disinfecting of the locker rooms, bathrooms, and showersRestock all areas within the Recreation Center such as toilet paper, paper towels, and shower soapResponsible for inventory and stocking all cleaning and maintenance suppliesResponsible for daily cleaning and organization of the Recreation CenterDaily maintenance of all carpet, wooden floors, terrazzo, and synthetic surfacesResponsible for assisting in keeping the Recreation Center safe and risk-freeResponsible for assisting in the annual maintenance and cleaning shutdown of the Recreation CenterResponsible for the daily and weekly inspection of various activity areasExecute the preventative maintenance plan as scheduled for all facility, custodial, and fitness equipmentRepair damaged fitness equipmentAssist in the planning of all facility projects, including annual maintenance shutdownResponsible for minor repairs throughout the Recreation CenterEarly morning and late-night shifts will be requiredTrack and order inventory of all chemical and cleaning productsComplete and submit work orders to third-party vendors and the Jacksonville State University maintenance teamEducation and ExperienceHigh School Diploma with some college or vocational schooling a plusGeneral mechanical aptitudeFamiliarity with safe operation of hand toolsCustodial or general maintenance experienceSkills and AbilitiesWillingness and ability to take direction; professional appearance and positive attitude a mustHigh level of organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skillsExcellent attention to detail while striving to perform high quality workmanshipSome computer literacy and ability to communicate via emailAbility to prioritize tasks and manage time efficientlyAbility to work both independently as well as with a team including college studentsAbility to interact and successfully manage within all levels of the organizationWork EnvironmentPosition will be based in Jacksonville, AL with less than 30 minute emergency response time to the facility expectedCombination of office environment, fitness center environment, and a variety of mechanical spacesExposed to dirt, odors, heights, cleaning chemicals, variable temperatures, and weather conditionsModerate to loud noiseEvening or weekend work as required Physical DemandsStanding or walking for at least 80% of the work dayOperation of various hand and power toolsOperation of equipment such as a scissors liftRequires moderate physical effort to include frequentlifting of 50 pounds, occasional lifting of greater than 75 poundsBending, stoopingMust be able to traverse throughout the building and campus. Must be able to match speed of movement to game play. Regularly ascending/descending building levels and occasionally ladders or stools.Must be able to lift, move and set up items weighing as much as 50 lbs.Must be able to discuss, converse with, and exchange accurate information with arena patrons, staff, stakeholders, etc.
