The Salvation Army’s Waltham Corps., is hiring a Hope Kitchen Coordinator & Cook and offers the following benefit package to part-time employees:Generous paid time off every year that includes: holidays, vacation time and sick timeEmployer funded Pension Plan (company contributions begin after 1 year of employment and consistently works 20+ hours/week)Eligibility for supplemental insurance plans including: Voluntary Term Life & AD&D benefits, AFLAC InsuranceMost importantly - a job with a good purpose!Location: Waltham, MAPay Range: $15.00 - $17.05 per hour 28 hours per weekThe Coordinator is responsible to insure the all operations of the HOPE Kitchen and work together with other department heads to do The Salvation Army Mission.QUALIFICATIONSEducation Requirements:High School Graduate or EquivalenceSome practical training in social work area preferableWork Experience:Minimum of 2 years experience working with a similar programOther qualifications:Certification for Food Produce SafetyCertification in Safe Serve approved by Department of HealthTraining in maintenance of environment for good preparationDuties & Responsibilities: Prepare and cook meals for programsClean and maintain Hope Kitchen facilities neatKeep Sign-in book for meals served currentKeep a record / sign-up of all baked good given to Food Pantry clientsWork with CO to develop and implement a Monthly MenuKeep ongoing list of needed items for the food program and give it to the Office Manager so the items can be purchasedWork closely Pantry Worker in keeping cupboard stocked and notify Office Manager in a timely manner of shortage or insufficiency to run HOPE KitchenResponsible to train, instruct and maintain volunteers that serve at the Hope KitchenKeep up to date record of volunteer sign-in sheet and hours volunteeredWork with volunteers/custodian to be sure that ail garbage receptacles are empty and clean at the end of the dayRepresent The Salvation Army’s spiritual ministry and social mission in the community at largeEngage in Christian spiritual conversation with members of the public and in the corps facility if opportunity or need present themselvesPray with individuals when the opportunity or need ariseRecognize spiritual need of persons which may require referral to the Corps OfficersThis IS not an all inclusive list; other duties may be assigned to perform the above outlined task.
