Unless specifically stated otherwise, this role is 'On-Site' at the location detailed in the job post.General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the security and compliance of our systems through rigorous vulnerability scanning, system security patching, and adherence to NIST standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with ACAS (Assured Compliance Assessment Solution), application of DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles.Key Responsibilities:- Perform regular vulnerability scans using ACAS to identify security weaknesses and vulnerabilities within the system.- Analyze scan results and provide detailed reports on findings, including risk assessments and recommended mitigations.- Implement and manage system security patching processes to ensure timely updates and compliance with security policies.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address vulnerabilities and ensure the security of all systems.- Develop and maintain documentation related to security compliance, vulnerability management, and patch management processes.- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to proactively protect the organization's assets.- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., NIST, RMF, STIG, etc.).- Conduct security audits and assessments to verify compliance with established security policies and procedures.- Properly configure systems according to the STIGs, conduct audits to ensure compliance and document configurations and changes.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Systems Engineering.- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on vulnerability management and compliance.- Demonstrated proficiency with ACAS and other vulnerability scanning tools.- Strong understanding of system security patching processes and best practices.- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., NIST, RMF, STIG).- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or similar are a plus.Preferred Skills:- Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools.- Knowledge of network security principles and practices.- Experience working in a highly regulated environment.Target salary range: USD $83,721.00/Yr. - USD $90,000.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.
