Billing Clerk

Description A thriving professional services firm in the heart of San Diego is searching for a motivated and detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join its growing finance team. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working with numbers, analyzing data, and ensuring clients are billed accurately and efficiently. This isnu2019t your typical back-office billing role u2014 youu2019ll collaborate with multiple departments, support project teams, and help keep the financial side of the business running seamlessly. The ideal candidate takes pride in accuracy, thrives on organization, and brings a proactive approach to solving small but important financial puzzles each day. Key Responsibilities + Prepare and process detailed client invoices in accordance with project terms and timelines. + Review and verify contract data, billing rates, and project codes for accuracy. + Communicate with project managers and department leads to clarify billing details or resolve discrepancies. + Post payments, issue credit memos, and maintain accurate account records. + Monitor outstanding balances and assist with collection follow-up as needed. + Reconcile billing statements and assist with monthly reporting. + Support accounting leadership with special projects, audits, and month-end close. Requirements + 1u20133 years of billing, accounts receivable, or related accounting experience. + Strong attention to detail and data accuracy u2014 you enjoy getting the details right the first time. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software (QuickBooks, Deltek, NetSuite, or similar). + Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with both internal teams and clients. + A positive attitude, strong organizational habits, and a willingness to learn and take initiative.
