Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for an Electrician / Maintenance Technician at the Albany Capital Center in Albany, NY.SUMMARY: Work with the HVAC/Maintenance Technician to develop, operate and maintain all electrical systems. Facility event coverage for all electrical needs. Must have working knowledge of computers and extensive knowledge of building electrical codes.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: u2022Work with the events manager and show management to ensure that all electrical needs are met for shows. u2022Perform preventative maintenance related projects to the buildingu2019s electrical, Fire, HVAC, and plumbing systems. u2022Perform preventative maintenance related projects for the buildingu2019s cosmetic needs including painting, tile replacement, and general carpentry. u2022Troubleshoot all electrical problems as they occur. u2022Monitor all electrical inventory and supplies and work with management on ordering and replenishing supplies as needed. u2022Operate and maintain computerized fire alarm and lighting systems. u2022Monitor monthly generator test. u2022Work with building HVAC Technician to ensure proper operation of HVAC systems. u2022Pulling, running, and terminating cables. u2022Adhere to OSHA, NFPA and other applicable safety codes, as well as ASM Global job safety requirements. u2022Operate equipment including Forklift, Scissor Lift, Truck (w/snowplow etc....) u2022Assist with snow plowing/removal as needed. u2022Other duties may be assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION & EXPERIEINCE u2022High School Diploma or GED u2022Successful completion of apprenticeship program or trade school u20222-4 years related journeyman level experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred u2022Possession of Electrical license is highly desirableKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: u2022Line voltage experience required. u2022Must be familiar with blueprints and local building codes. u2022Current driveru2019s license required u2022Computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.WORKING ENVIORNMENT: u2022Requires the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hours. u2022This position requires work inside and/or outside of the building as needed by events and is subject to changing climate and adverse weather conditions. u2022The worker is subject to noise. Noise levels will vary depending on the job task and events in the building. u2022Must have knowledge of safe operation of all tools required to perform necessary job functions. These tools can include, but are not limited to, sharp cutters, reamers, drills, gas cutting torches, benders and equipment such as service carts, scissor lifts and boom lifts.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to use arms and hands to work; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to access electrical systems; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
