Systems Engineer III

As a Systems Engineer III at Spectrum, you will manage the Application Administration of OSS applications across all Spectrum Divisions, engaging in the full life cycle of systems engineering activities to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.How You’ll Make an ImpactCoordinate with internal departments to assess integration capabilities, data sources, and solution designs for feasibility, cost, and functionalityConduct design sessions with architects and engineers; create detailed design documents and functional specifications for new applications and servicesCollaborate on configuration designs for various environments and create work effort estimates for new features and bug fixes for prioritization and release managementDevelop core code modules, unit test tools, and release notes for enhancements and bug fixes, and review development tools for functionalityInstall, configure, administer, and provide on-call support for OSS applications, using established change management processes to minimize customer impactWork with database administrators to configure, tune and maintain databases, and document systems configurations, upgrades, and disaster recovery plansMonitor and manage applications, device availability, network conditions, system reliability, performance, service and program maintenance, and storage resourcesWorking ConditionsOffice environmentWhat You’ll Bring to SpectrumRequired QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience; May require Industry Standard CertificationsExperience5+ years of application development work experience4+ years of network OSS application work experience3+ years of system administration work experience3+ years of database support and development work experience3+ years of enterprise application integration work experience SkillsAbility to read, write, speak and understand English Advanced ability to conduct design sessions to specify solution designs for feasibility, cost, and functionality and create detailed documentation to functionally understand new and existing applications Advanced ability to follow and implement established change and control policies and procedures and troubleshoot application problems In-depth knowledge of development tools, application frameworks, and testing tools, OSS applications and software, and choosing the appropriate lifecycle and the planning, monitoring and control of the systems engineering process Ability to effectively transform an operational need into a description of system parameters and incorporate those parameters in the control of the total system development to achieve an optimum, cost-effective balance of all system elements Advanced knowledge of network and systems engineering systems concepts and system/super-system skills, including NetApp Clustered On-TAP, Cisco UCS, and VMWare systems Preferred QualificationsEducationCCNA/CCNP or equivalent CCIE Data Center or equivalent CCIE Routing and Switching or equivalent Experience7+ years of application development work experience 6+ years of network OSS application work experience 5+ years of system administration work experience5+ years of database support and development work experience5+ years of enterprise application integration work experience ISY350 2025-62951 2025 Here, our employees don’t just have jobs, they're building careers. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
