Licensed Vocational Nurse - ECC - Wharton - Mid Shift

The Licensed Vocational Nurse at the Wharton Campus is under the direct/indirectsupervision of the Registered Nurse and is responsible for the professional nursing careand related assistance to patients on an assigned unit. Performs direct patient care withinthe scope of the Licensed Vocational Practice Act and in the assigned Critical Care area toestablished procedures. Performs Point of Care laboratory testing. Projects an image of alevel-headed professional that is constantly striving to increase their knowledge to better thecare for the patient.MINIMUM EDUCATON:Graduate of an accredited licensed vocational nursing program.MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:One year clinical nursing or related experience preferred.REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:Current licensure in Texas as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.Certified in Basic Life Support through the American HeartAssociation and Advance Cardiac Life Support required within 6months of employment.REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:Critical thinking skills, excellent communication skills, andcomputer proficiency required.
