What You’ll Do as a Floating Safety SpecialistAs a Floating Safety Specialist at Lewis Services, you’ll:Present as a visible leader, influencing and motivating while modeling Lewis’s Operating PrinciplesBuild and maintain strong partnerships with Operations to drive positive and continuous safety improvementsParticipate in morning huddles and deliver safety tailgates/safety moments to job crewsConduct worksite observations to identify potential risks and compliance with company and regulatory requirements; provide feedback to operations leadership on observationsProvide timely assistance and consistent interpretation of company safety policies/procedures and regulatory requirementsAnalyze data and provide documented reviews to Operations on areas for improvement and corrective actionsSupport Operations on training needs, including:Working safely with utility line clearance tools (saws, pruners, hanger poles, ropes and rigging tools, saddles, full body harnesses, aerial lifts, etc.)Technical skills from fundamentals to advanced (roping/rigging, collision avoidance, climbing techniques)Safety processes and risks (aerial rescue, electrical safety, first aid/CPR)Investigate and analyze incidents using current methods to facilitate learning, growth, and build organizational capacity to fail safelyPrepare evaluations and provide summary reports and recommendations for operations and safety leadershipCommunicate safety program needs with regional leadershipComply with all company policies, procedures, and work rulesReport timely and accurately to Safety and Operations Regional LeadershipPerform all other related and necessary duties as assignedWhat You Bring:Associate degree in a related field OR High School diploma/GED with safety/industry credentials (CUSP, CTSP, ASP, GSP, ISA Arborist, etc.) or equivalent work experienceMinimum 1 year of experience in line-clearance or related industryKnowledge of OSHA and applicable ANSI requirements and compliance; OSHA 30 Hour or equivalent combinationValid driver’s licenseBilingual skills or actively learning a second language are an advantageKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesLeading teams and driving changeStrong written, oral, and presentation skillsProficiency with computers, smartphones, and MS Office SuiteKnowledge of vegetation management tools, practices, and procedures (preferred)Familiarity with OSHA, ANSI, DOT, and tree industry regulations and standardsPhysical DemandsAbility to:Write, type, file, and organizeObserve and respond to visual and oral communicationAdjust quickly and efficiently from task to taskCommunicate clearly in a professional mannerBend, reach, hold, grasp, and organizePerform in the presence of distractions or work frustrationsMaintain regular and timely attendanceParticipate in employee and professional training eventsTravel locally and away from home approximately 30-40% of the timeEnvironmental ConditionsRegularly - Outdoor exposure, fieldwork with crews, varying weather conditionsOccasionally - Office environment, temperature extremesRarely - Hazardous materials, air quality issuesPPE required per OSHA and ANSI standardsWhat We OfferNon-Union Benefits:Competitive pay $66,500 - $78,500Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)Paid training and certificationsHealth, dental, vision & HSA options401(k) +Paid time off and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Our DEI CommitmentOur commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is key to the success of our business.
