ABOUT THE POSITIONVHB is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer to join our dynamic and growing Structures group in our Bedford, NH office.In this position, under the direction of senior staff, you would support all aspects of transportation related structural design and engineering projects including assisting in field work, preparing plan sets, performing design calculations, detailing, and assisting in the preparation of construction documents.Learn more about our Structures practice at VHB: Bridges & Structures | VHBApplicants must be legally authorized to work for VHB in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the structural design of transit and highway structures from conceptual to final designParticipate in site visits to collect data necessary for preliminary designAssist in drafting of project details and plans using Microstation, AutoDesk or other CAD softwarePreparation of quantity calculations and cost estimateAssists in preparing contract documents and specificationsSkills and AttributesEffective and comfortable in a highly collaborative environmentStrong technical skillsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsSelf-motivated and willing to take responsibilityEager to learn and take on technical challengesExcellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to qualityQualificationsB.S. in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred)0-1 years of structural engineering experienceWe are VHB!We’re an inspired and innovative team of engineers, scientists, planners, and designers who partner with clients in the transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments.
