They will advise patients on various types of lenses and spectacle frames, including advice on style, weight, and color. Instructs patients on how to wear and care for their spectacles and contacts.Provides patient education regarding lens materials, products, and designsPerforms prescription analysis such as interpreting and transposingProvides recommendations to patients regarding proper eyeglass frame selectionDetermines ideal recommendations by incorporating frame design, lens materials and optics with patient’s prescription and lifestyle considerationsPerforms eyeglass frame adjustments and repairs. Includes proper alignment of frame, comfortable fit, functional vision and instructions on proper wear and care of eyeglassesPerforms accurate measurements of lens power, pupillary distance, multifocal segment height, lens base curve, vertex distance, and prism power Orders custom lens products from identified vendors and monitors process to ensure on-time delivery and communicates any delays to patientPost charges, patient and insurance claim payments and bill insurance when neededOrder contact lenses and/or trialsVerifies lens prescriptions of ordered lenses and checks for accuracy Assists in the return of authorized merchandise to manufacturersDesign, arrange and maintain product displaysMonitors product inventory levelsMaintains inventory of office supplies and other materials necessary to properly run the departmentMaintains instruments and hand tools used Maintains job knowledge by participating in continuing education opportunities and trainingAbility to perform troubleshoot to determine cause for issues with new eyeglasses Follows clinical workflow to ensure a clean hand-off from clinic to dispensary.Work in cooperation with other dispensary associates to meet and exceed daily and monthly sales goalsExecutes duties of position in a professional and courteous mannerHandles sensitive information in a confidential mannerPerforms other tasks and duties as assignedHigh School diploma or equivalent requiredBi-lingual, English/Spanish is highly preferredCertification by American Board of Opticianry preferredOne to two years of retail optician experience requiredStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, staff, managers, and doctorsUnderstanding of the anatomy of the eye as well as normal, abnormal vision and perceptionBasic computer literacy required Excellent math skills that allow for precise work related to opticianry and sales (basic algebraic equations and monetary calculations)In turn we will offer:Benefits to full time team members that include comprehensive medical, dental and optical coverage, 401k and short and long term disability.Company paid life insurance.Paid holidays and generous paid time off.Paid parking where applicable.Team oriented working environment where you are heard and respected.Clear career ladder opportunities.Monthly bonus/commission.Offered pay $18 - $20 per hour.#ESP2
