Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to oversee and manage critical financial operations for our Marine Shipping and logistics industry client located in The Woodlands, Texas. This role demands a strong understanding of accounting principles and processes, with a focus on ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate will bring leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to driving operational excellence. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial reports. u2022 Manage the general ledger, maintaining accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. u2022 Conduct and coordinate financial statement audits, addressing any discrepancies and ensuring adherence to regulations. u2022 Reconcile accounts to ensure the integrity of financial data and resolve any variances promptly. u2022 Prepare and review journal entries to support accurate financial reporting. u2022 Utilize NetSuite software for financial operations and reporting, ensuring optimal system usage. u2022 Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. u2022 Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles. Must have experience in the marine logistics industry utilizing IMS systems. u2022 Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger management. u2022 Experience conducting financial statement audits with a solid understanding of regulatory requirements. u2022 Strong skills in account reconciliation and resolving variances. u2022 Familiarity with preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate financial records. u2022 Hands-on experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software. u2022 Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. u2022 Strong communication and leadership abilities to manage teams effectively.
