Performs complex analysis of Comptrollerand#8217;s financial systems and data used for statewide financial and fund (i.e., budgetary) accounting and oversight. Provides expertise in querying and extracting data using programming languages, including Structured Query Language (SQL). Provides guidance for or manages projects related to accounting system data. Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Work HoursMonday through Friday, 40 hours a week with occasional evening, weekend hours and holidays. Hours may change based on business need.Qualifications: Minimum QualificationsEducation:Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelorand#8217;s degree.Experience:and#183; Three years of experience with the Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS).and#183; Experience using DB2and#8217;s Structured Query Language (SQL).and#183; Experience researching, analyzing and resolving variances and out of balance conditions with governmental accounting systems.and#183; Experience documenting and updating procedures.Preferred QualificationsPreferred Education:Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelorand#8217;s degree in accounting, auditing, business management, finance, computer science, computer information systems, or management information systems or a related field.Preferred Experience:and#183; Experience supporting Texas statewide fiscal systems (CAPPS, HRIS, SPRS, SPA, TINS, and/or USAS).and#183; Experience with a relational database (DB2 in particular).and#183; Experience using report generators and tools such as QMF, SYNCSORT, SAS, EASYTRIEVE.and#183; Experience using SAP Business Objects/Business Intelligence (BI) tools.and#183; Experience using Power BI.and#183; Experience with programming languages including Python, Java, etc.and#183; A functional knowledge of mainframe programming (JCL - Job Control Language), including some experience at creating, reading, updating, and deleting mainframe datasets.and#183; A functional knowledge of using SAS to manage data and create reports.and#183; A functional knowledge of generating reports using mainframe tools, including experience with IBM OS mainframe environments (ex. Marginal or corrected visual and auditory requirements are required for reading printed materials and computer screens and communicating with internal and external customersIn this role you will:and#183; Develops and codes programs that extract information from the Comptrollerand#8217;s fiscal management systems and use the information to (1) provide reports in response to open records and ad hoc report requests; and (2) ensure compliance with state law and agency fiscal policies.and#183; Performs system support of USAS including Central Profile Action Requests (CPARs) and Super Security Delete (SSD) request and assists with yearend close activities such as GL Close, file fixes and security reviews.and#183; Analyzes system data to identify and correct problems and assists agencies and business SMEs with problem resolution.
