Entity: Production & Operations Job Family Group: Procurement & Supply Chain Management Group Job Description: Role Synopsis This role reports to the BPX Energy Lead Category Manager for Midstream & Facilities and will support the BPX Midstream team as a Procurement and Supply Chain Management Senior Category Manager. Specific categories supporting may include multiple of the following: Midstream Brownfield Construction, Powerline and Substation Construction, Midstream New Facilities Construction, Midstream Equipment, Pipeline Inspections & Maintenance, I&E PM/CMs, PSV testing, Dehydration System Filters, Inspections & IM, Rotating Equipment Purchases & Maintenance and Others as assigned. Provides strategic, analytical and tactical support to the BPX Midstream organization and Category Team. Responsible for developing and executing strategies for assigned categories. Ensures deployment and execution of common systems and processes for supply chain activities in designated categories. Establishes and manages supplier relationships and contract compliance. This role is responsible for taking ownership of and improving the relationship with Midstream team and delivers value through exhibiting BPX values and establishing effective interfaces with customers, the Head of Procurement, PSCM Category and Operations teams. Key Accountabilities u2022 As a member of the BPX PSCM Midstream & Facilities Category Team, support the Category Lead in delivering PSCM services and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, at times including partners and government bodies. u2022 Ensure that BPX and PSCM standards, processes and operating systems, and any additional local requirements, are implemented in all PSCM activities. u2022 Understanding of basic category management strategies, supplier management plans, including contracts u2022 Foundational understanding and experience of executing category management plans, including contracting and the implementation of short and long-term agreements, and managing PSCM activities in a safe and effective manner. u2022 Able to understand and implement category management and contracting plans. Support strategic sourcing of delegated categories. u2022 Identifies PSCM risks and ensures mitigation strategies and plans are developed and implemented. u2022 Undertakes due diligence in mitigating all external supply risk in contract execution. Understands and drives robust cost management and rigorous contract management controls. u2022 Leads communication related to PSCM with the key stakeholders, including Business Unit functional VPs. u2022 Build and maintain relationships with local suppliers, driving continuous improvement, improving safety performance and reducing operational risk. u2022 Supports regular performance reviews with stakeholders and suppliers to measure supplier performance, and develop plans to address performance issues. Identifies and escalates disputes between stakeholders and suppliers relating to service delivery. u2022 Executes PSCM common processes, drives efficiency, continuous improvement and compliant procurement transactions across the value chain. u2022 Prioritizes/supports regional supplier and contract management activities, e.g. Performance reviews, contracts on-boarding sessions, contract oversights audits, etc. u2022 Coordinates regional PSCM representation in supplier investigations. Ensures effective follow-up on audit findings to ensure timely closure. u2022 Works closely with PSCM Category and Midstream Teams to ensure there are no issues with business continuity. u2022 Accountable for working with the Business Units and suppliers to deliver value contributions that have direct impact on lease operating expenses. Essential Education, Experience, and Job Requirements u2022 University degree in Procurement/Supply Chain, Business, Engineering/technical discipline or equivalent. + High school diploma with 8 years of additional relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree. u2022 5-10 years of relevant PSCM experience supporting new construction or Operations of Midstream facilities, pipelines, and/or power projects. u2022 Experience successfully managing a high-spend strategic business Category u2022 Strong analytical and oral/written communication skills, in particular the ability to be influential and drive the PSCM agenda with internal stakeholders, and to negotiate with suppliers at Account Representative/Manager level. u2022 Strong project management skills. u2022 Working knowledge of systems such as Open Invoice, Ariba and SAP and software tools such as Excel, Access, etc. u2022 Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with individuals across multiple disciplines, cultures and geographies, across interpersonal boundaries and levels within BPX and with suppliers. u2022 Experience in programming and understanding micro and macroeconomics impact on oil field categories is helpful.
