Position Summary We are looking for a skilledPower Generation Field Service Technician to join our team. In thisrole, you'll be responsible for the commissioning, maintenance,troubleshooting, and repair of CAT engines and generators (up to 3000kW). The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background,excellent diagnostic abilities, and a customer-focused mindset. This isa field-based role with direct interaction with commercial clients. KeyResponsibilities Commission, maintain, and repair CAT engines andgenerators (diesel, natural gas, biogas) up to 3000 kW. Perform routineinspections and preventive maintenance to ensure generator reliability.Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using industry tools andprocedures. Conduct load bank testing and performance assessments.Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts inventory.Provide customer training and support on generator operation andmaintenance. Ensure all work complies with OSHA safety standards andcompany policies. Collaborate with peers and technical support teams toresolve complex issues. Stay informed on industry advancements and CATtechnologies. Represent Fabick Cat professionally while on customersites. Requirements Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent;technical certification or associate degree preferred (electrical ormechanical field). Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience servicingpower generators (50 kW--3000 kW). In-depth knowledge of CAT generatorsystems, including engines, control systems, and electrical components.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, anddiagrams. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellentcommunication and customer service abilities. Valid driver's license;ability to travel to job sites within assigned territory. Knowledge ofcontrol panels and switchgear is a plus. Preferred Skills Experiencewith CAT-specific diagnostic tools and software (e.g., CAT ET, SIS)Knowledge of generator control panels, switchgear, and parallelingsystems Previous experience in customer-facing field service rolesFactory training or OEM certification from Caterpillar or equivalentStrong computer skills for documentation and reporting using serviceplatforms Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavyequipment and tools.
