Responsible for maintaining the operations and appearance of MasTec Renewables equipment at the jobsite level including assessment, diagnosis, replacement, and repair. Provide subject matter expertise to Field Mechanic Is to help with more complex troubleshooting and repair of equipment on site. This is an on-site position requiring travel to jobsites 100% of the time.Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on all equipment troubleshootingConduct on-site field repairs and troubleshootingMaintain an equipment maintenance work order data base for assigned jobsPerform machine preventative maintenance services and maintain service intervals per the original equipment specificationsOperate equipment to diagnose problems and inspect equipment for defectsEnsure all equipment has an equipment ID (logo, unit numbers, digital photos)Perform and/or verify DOT annual inspection per Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulationsEnsure equipment safety (i.e., backup alarms, lights, seat belts, fire extinguishers, rigging, etc.)Show expertise in all basic and complex machines, including crane safety (crane maintenance daily logbook/annual inspection, etc.)Work with Field Equipment Managers to review maintenance records and major repairsPerform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standardsEffectively communicate with Field Equipment Manager to obtain parts needed for repairDocument all work performed and recommended on the repair orderTest vehicles and equipment when requiredIdentify machinery defects or malfunctions and complete repairKeep work area neat and cleanMaintain tool inventory on service truck to ensure all tools are available in working orderUnderstand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.Operate all tools and equipment in a safe mannerReport any safety issues immediately to the Field Equipment ManagerOther duties as assignedEducation and Work Experience Requirements:Certificate from college or technical school in Diesel or Automotive Technology preferredThree years relevant experienceExperience with OEM and dealership procedures for repairs, maintenance, and warranty preferredOne or more of the following certifications: Electrical diagnostics and repair cert, A/C system diagnostics and repair cert, Welding Certification, OEM certification (JD Tech, CAT SiS, Case IH Tech, Komatsu Tech, Ford, Kenworth, Liebherr), etc. preferredCommercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferredMust have Medical Examiner Certification or ability to obtainMust have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive company equipment per company policyKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the Company’s Zero Injury principlesAbility to diagnose and repair complex problems in systems including mechanical, hydraulic, and electricalAbility to track and maintain records of completed work and update status of open work ordersAbility to complete scheduled maintenance tasks including but not limited to: Wheel and tire changes, cutting edge replacement, DOT inspections and servicesAbility to identify and request parts and complete repairs using OEM manualsMinimum level of reworkAbility to use, repair and maintain machines and toolsStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to work efficiently, independently and follow through on assignmentsStrong communication skillsProficient with computer technology such as email, phone/tablet for inspections and photos, time tracking application, digital OEM manualsWillingness to go above and beyond to assist job sites with requestsWelding experienceWorking Environment:Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particlesFrequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicalsOccasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions high, precarious places, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shockNoise level in the work environment is usually loudWhat's in it for youFinancial WellbeingCompensation:$28 - $32/hourly, commensurate with experienceCompetitive pay with ongoing performance review and merit increase401(k) with company match & Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)Flexible spending account (Healthcare & Dependent care)Health & WellnessMedical, Dental, and Vision insurance (plan choice) - coverage for spouse, domestic partner, and childrenDiabetes Management, Telehealth Coverage, Prescription Drug PlanPosition may be subject to pre-employment screening, which may include background check and drug testing.
