Kimley-Horn is looking for a Bentley Support Lead and Trainer to join our St. Paul, Minnesota office! This is not a remote position.This position will support project teams using Bentley software across the firm through technical support, training and managing CAD standards. The selected candidate will:LeadershipMentor and train CAD team partners utilizing best practices for Bentley software productsProvide technical direction to 12 geographic CAD Support Specialists: coordinate knowledge sharing, backlog, and prioritiesTrainingDesign learning paths, deliver live/virtual workshops, create video tutorials, coordinate with our software partners to do the sameThese training courses will cover various disciplines and skill levels with a major emphasis on roadway and surface water practicesSupportSupport various project teams' utilization of Bentley engineering software from 3D modeling into design, production, and asset managementSolve complex ORD modeling, annotation, terrain, or corridor issues escalated from production teams and coordinate directly with software vendors as neededCoordinate with CAD teams for timely software upgrades and deployment of Bentley OpenRoads Designer, Microstation and other Bentley softwareStandardsDefine and maintain feature definitions, annotation groups, DGNLIBs, report styles, and workspace configurationsValidate client-specific and KH CAD standardsProvide support and direction for workspace development amongst project teamsHelp teams transition to ProjectWise and identify existing team’s needs and opportunitiesProject ManagementParticipate in project kick offs to set modeling strategies; conduct periodic model health checks and peer reviews to enforce standards.Create documented guidance and real-time support for KH helpdesk regarding Bentley support topicsTechnical LeadershipPilot new Bentley releases, Civil add ins, and custom tools; assess ROI and hand off deploy ready packages to production teamsRecommend emerging tools and strategies to improve work efficiencyCoordinate with IT developers to solve project related problemsMonitor application performance, license pools, and server utilization; recommend scaling or optimization actions.Track defect/root cause trends, run post incident reviews, and sponsor automation to reduce repetitive tasks.Actively work with project teams to understand their needs and create innovative solutions that can be crafted internally with internal teams or placed on software vendors roadmapsWhile a bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred, we recognize that skills and experience can be gained through a variety of paths. We welcome applicants with strong, demonstrated relevant experience to apply, even if they do not hold a degree.10+ years of experience in civil engineering design with relevant ORD experience working on large-scale roadway projects, complex drainage projects, and digital delivery principlesExperience with developing training content, troubleshooting CAD issues, and training CAD usersIn-depth knowledge of Bentley design programsExperience training, supporting, and mentoring technical staffExperience with backend implementation of DOT and municipal CAD standardsEffective communication skillsExperience mentoring or leading distributed support teamsFamiliarity with OpenRoads SDK, or OpenRoads APIs a plusSalary range:$110,000 - $150,000At Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
