We are looking for an Application Development Group Manager who will deliver and support the technology needed by our Portfolio Management Group, including order management and trading systems (Charles River platform), data integrations, and other technology. This critical role has broad scope for technology strategy, implementation, and support globally by partnering with business stakeholders, technology teams, and vendors. It's the people that make the Fisher purpose possible, and we invest in them by offering exceptional benefits.The Opportunity:As an Application Development Group Manager, you will be responsible for the Charles River (CRD/CRIMS) Technology Team, you will lead a team in designing, developing, implementing and supporting the Charles River platform and related workflows and ensure the technology and business architecture will support Fisher's scale and volume and bring innovation and efficiency to our processes, reducing customizations and maximizing native (out of the box) capabilities of the platform. Under the guidance of Fisher Investments senior technology leaders, you will also allocate work and manage the team, including hiring, development, completion of performance reviews, and terminations if necessary. You will report to the Vice President, Portfolio Management Technology.The Day-to-Day:Manage relationships with key business stakeholders and align on priorities, timelines, delivery, communication model and expectationsManage a team of engineers, analysts, test automation engineers and project/program managers fostering a high-performance cultureManage relationships with third-party software providers such as Charles River and collaborate on solution design, feature delivery to meet Fisher needs, delivery timelines, resourcing, support model and commercialsBuild partnerships with other Fisher technology teams including architecture, infrastructure and information securityDefine and implement a platform roadmap, ensuring scalability, performance, and complianceLead business process, architecture and solution design activitiesProvide technical guidance for configuring, customizing, and developing on Charles River (CRD/CRIMS) and establish best practicesDrive platform upgrades, ensuring security, stability, and adherence to enterprise standardsStay ahead of the latest Wealth Management Technology trends and best practices, adopting solutionsYour Qualifications:10+ years of application development and management experience7+ years of industry experience delivering Wealth Management Technology Solutions (strongly prefer Charles River Experience)Strong understanding of Wealth Management concepts such as Order Generation, Mass Rebalancing & Trading (working experience)Present technical concepts to stakeholders and executivesBroad technology experience throughout systems development lifecycle, and various areas of technology architecture (infrastructure, application architecture, data architecture, and integrations)Leadership experience including mentoring and managing technology teams of 7+ members to deploy high-quality application solutions on predictable timelinesDrive complex large-scale projects business objectives using waterfall, Agile, Scrum, or Kanban project methodologiesExperience with cloud-based application architectures, infrastructure and support modelCompensation:$145,000 - $220,000 base salary per year in the state of WA - New hires should expect to start at the lower end of the range depending on experienceEligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performanceWhy Fisher Investments:We work for a bigger purpose: bettering the investment universe.
