Amgen's Comparative Medicine is hiring Animal Care Technicians at the Thousand Oaks, CA location. In this vital role you will have a chance to maintain a world-class animal facility central to the discovery of new medicines for critical treatments, including oncology, heart disease, and inflammation.Key Responsibilities:Care for laboratory animalsFollow guidance documents to perform assigned tasksPerform husbandry activities such as cage change, cage wash, and facility sanitationPerform and report daily health observationsHandling and restraint of laboratory animals, notably rodentsAssist in receiving process, housing, and shippingMonitor inventory of animal feed, bedding, and enrichment amongst other suppliesOperate husbandry-related equipment such as cage wash, autoclave, laminar air flow cabinets, and other equipmentRoutinely wash, autoclave, and prepare caging and equipmentMay provide support for scientific techniques as directedMaintain and organize (5S, lean management) laboratory spaces for success of researchProvide supplies and support for investigators conducting scientific experimentsEstablish effective work relationships within group and participate in teamsNormally this is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, will require weekend husbandry coverage on a rotational basis and overtime as neededWhat we expect of youWe are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients.
