Accounting Assistant - Non Profit

A respected nonprofit organization in Encinitas is seeking a hands-on Accounting Assistant to join their small but mighty finance team. In this role, youu2019ll help manage the day-to-day accounting functions u2014 from processing invoices and donations to supporting audits and reconciliations. Responsibilities + Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently. + Assist with expense tracking, credit card reconciliations, and budget updates. + Help prepare reports for grants and donor funding. + Maintain organized and compliant financial records. + Support payroll and benefits administration as needed. + Assist the Controller with month-end close activities and journal entries. Requirements + 1u20132 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping. + Strong understanding of debits/credits and general accounting principles. + Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks preferred). + Excellent communication and organizational skills. + A passion for supporting meaningful community work.
