Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Rhinebeck, New York. This role is ideal for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in tax preparation and general accounting who is adept at mentoring staff and fostering client relationships. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee and manage month-end closing processes and ensure accuracy in the general ledger. u2022 Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. u2022 Conduct account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies efficiently. u2022 Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced accountants, fostering their growth and development. u2022 Collaborate with clients to review tax returns and address inquiries. u2022 Handle tax preparation tasks, leveraging expertise in software tools such as Drake and QuickBooks. u2022 Identify opportunities to bring in new business and expand client relationships. u2022 Maintain a high level of accuracy in journal entries and annual income tax provisions. u2022 Participate in strategic planning for the firmu2019s growth and succession opportunities. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting, excluding auditing. u2022 Proficiency in tax preparation and accounting software, preferably Drake and QuickBooks. u2022 Strong ability to mentor and support staff accountants. u2022 Excellent interpersonal skills for client meetings and relationship management. u2022 Ambition and vision to take over the firm within a 5-6 year timeline. u2022 Proven track record of generating business or maintaining strong client networks. u2022 Solid understanding of month-end close processes, general ledger, and account reconciliation. u2022 Expertise in journal entries and annual income tax provisions.
