Job Description An employer is seeking a highly skilled EMC Test Engineer to join one of our largest national manufacturing clients for a hybrid contract-to-hire opportunity. In this role youu2019ll join a growing team of 5 lab members and 11 team members to backfill an engineer whou2019s planning to retire in a few months. Ideally, youu2019ll work closely with this engineer before he leaves to ensure you feel well equipped to head up electrical focused troubleshooting and testing among the electrical techs also working in this lab. In this role youu2019ll be doing stress focused testing on products such as thermostats, smoke alarms & detectors, control panels and security safety products. These products are primarily low voltage, therefore prior low voltage testing experience will help you be successful on this team. In this role your duties will consist of 80% lab work and 20% administrative and data focused work. To be successful on this team you must have prior experience with EMC Testing, specifically electrical testing and troubleshooting experience. You also must have an engineering degree, specifically an electrical or mechanical focused engineering degree is preferred. This is a contract-to-hire role with the potential to convert based on performance. This team sits in Melville, NY, therefore you must be able to commute to their Melville location 5 days/week to adhere to their in office requirements. JOB DUTIES: u2022u2003Determines and implements test plans for alternate components, pre-production products, production products and finished products. u2022u2003Develops test plans for internal/external testing. u2022u2003Creates and revises test procedures based upon changing product needs. u2022u2003Creates test setups and can troubleshoot issues that arise. u2022u2003Works with external vendors [ODM's/OEM's] to verify all test procedures are understood and all results comply with the stated requirements. u2022u2003Ensure activities comply with Resideo ISO and various agency requirements. u2022u2003Involved in product development to ensure the proper test requirements are clearly explained and included in plans from the beginning of the effort. u2022u2003Enters all defects and failing results into the online systems for corrective action tracking. u2022u2003Investigates issues in need of corrective actions whenever the need arises. u2022u2003Validates solutions when corrective actions are implemented. u2022u2003Performs analyses of all test data to determine compliance with the published requirements. u2022u2003Acts as a mentor to technicians on all new and existing test procedures. u2022u2003Communicates with the various Teams regarding test plans, results and corrective actions. u2022u2003Participates in daily/weekly team meetings. u2022u2003Uses standardized test protocols across products lines based upon published department guidelines. u2022u2003Provides training on equipment where applicable.
