Job Description The Department of Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to lead and oversee various global health projects within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and Lean Six Sigma. This role requires exceptional leadership abilities, effective communication skills, and a keen understanding of project management lifecycle processes. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. Qualifications + Bachelors degree or greater preferred, or combination of applicable work experience and education + 3+ years of relevant experience with Masters degree; 5+ years with Bachelors degree; + Prior project management u2013 specific experience in Global Health from an Industry standpoint, such as working with multinational health organizations, global health initiatives, or health programs is preferred. Non-Bargaining Unit, 862 - Surgery - ISM, Icahn School of Medicine Responsibilities Areas of Responsibility u2022 GSI Board of Directors u2022 Global Health International Based Surgery Centers u2022 Research (research, grants, admin etc) responsibilities not yet determined Global Surgical Initiatives u2022 Support the boardu2019s strategic direction: work closely with the board to help develop and implement the organization's strategic direction. Provide research and analysis to help inform the board's decision-making, as well as support the implementation of the board's decisions. u2022 Liaison between the Board/Subcommittees and International Surgical Center Projects/Mount Sinai. Provide background knowledge and assistance as requested by members. u2022 Work with lawyers and accountants to ensure board compliance; obtain necessary copyrights/trademarks, acquire D&O insurance, ensure timely tax filing. Global Health u2022 Draft and provide cultural humility sessions to all global health related travelers (with Director of Global Surgery) u2022 Site visits as needed to ensure resident program running smoothly u2022 Help with Visas, accommodations, etc of traveling students, trainees, and surgeons. u2022 Assist with all global health related grants and conference presentations. u2022 Manage relationship with Mount Sinaiu2019s Office of Global Operations. u2022 Work with finance to pay vendors, provide student/trainee/surgeon travel reimbursements/stipends u2022 Ensure that program activities are carried out in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. u2022 Receive and store donated equipmentu2014must be able to lift 30 lb boxes. International Surgical Center (ICS) u2022 Liaison between International Surgical Centers and Mount Sinai; Collaborate with centers to support their daily operations and long-term vision of the growth of the center. Responsible for knowing everything that is happening in each Center, in order to guide Mount Sinai personnel engagement and create synergistic relationships between international centers and Mount Sinai departments. u2022 Liaison between International Surgical Center and stakeholders in different time zones. u2022 Implement collaborative ecosystem for real time clinical supportu2014hololens, zoomu2014and act as IT support during the live procedures. u2022 First point of contact for International Surgical Center when in need for equipment, additional consultant services, etc. u2022 Work with the Director of Global Surgery to identify students for research year/summers. u2022 Vet venders to see if worthwhile and if so, pass along to relevant stakeholders (ie Surgeon in Chief of Mount Sinai) u2022 Ensure safe transportation of equipment to locations, as well as compliance with international customs. u2022 Ensuring ongoing relationship with pathology department is smooth u2022 Schedule and create slides for meetings between the radiology departments. u2022 Responsible for moving mountains when things seem impossibleu2014for example acquiring the hololens, storing/shipping the simulators, getting staff VISAs for US/International travel, navigating any additional potential international policies or restrictions. u2022 Responsible for working with marketing partners to create International Surgery Center Website (when the time is right) About Us Strength through Unity and Inclusion The Mount Sinai Health System is committed to fostering an environment where everyone can contribute to excellence.
