Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Lithia, Florida. In this long-term contract role, you will manage and oversee the accounts payable functions, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments while adhering to company policies. Responsibilities: u2022 Review and verify vendor invoices for accuracy and completeness. u2022 Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts to ensure proper documentation and compliance. u2022 Process payments using ACH, check runs, or other approved methods in alignment with company policies. u2022 Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies related to invoices or payments. u2022 Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to address and resolve payment issues. u2022 Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing required reports and reconciliations. u2022 Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies during all payable processes. u2022 Provide documentation and support for audits as needed. u2022 Identify and implement process improvements within accounts payable workflows to enhance efficiency. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting roles. u2022 Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting systems. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial processes. u2022 Strong organizational and communication skills to manage tasks effectively. u2022 Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. u2022 Experience with three-way matching processes is preferred. u2022 Knowledge of sales/use tax and reporting regulations is a plus.
