3DIC Packaging SI/PI Applications Engineer

Job Family: Software Req ID: 451535 The Application Engineer (AE) role is one of the most critical roles in Siemens EDA and as an expert AE in the advanced packaging space, youu2019ll be working at the forefront of one of todayu2019s most exciting, fast paced areas of hardware design. Customers face new challenges as the IC and Package/PCB worlds merge and in this role, youu2019re engineering ingenuity will be critical to apply Siemenu2019s portfolio of technologies to address the challenges these customers face. As a 3DIC SI/PI Applications Engineer, youu2019re responsible for driving the technical engagements with customers for Siemenu2019s Signal Integrity, Power Integrity and EM products focused on the area of 2.5D/3D IC heterogenous packaging. Youu2019ll work collaboratively with a wide range of customers from startups to large enterprise organizations with the objective of understanding their needs, mapping Siemens solutions to the customer problem, performing product demonstrations, and managing evaluations and benchmarks with the customers. Being a subject matter expert, youu2019ll also take a leadership role in helping other AEs become familiar with these new packaging technologies and assisting them in applying our solutions to this design space. With the fast pace of technology in this area, another critical element of the role will be to provide guidance on technology trends in 2.5D/3D IC package analysis to Siemensu2019 product R&D teams to ensure roadmaps aligns with the customer needs. Responsibilities Include: The overall responsibility is to drive the technical execution of the customer engagement strategy for Siemens SI/PI/EM analysis tools in the 2.5D/3D IC package technology domain. u2022 Work with the sales team to define the strategy and tactics to achieve a technical win. u2022 Lead the technical engagement and collaborate with the broader AE organization as a subject matter expert. u2022An understanding of the basic elements of a technical campaign - decision process, success criteria, committed usage upon success, and, of course, solving the customeru2019s problem. u2022 Establish regular face-to-face meetings with the customer to build trust and identify challenges the customer may be facing. u2022 Demonstrate a clear understanding of the customeru2019s problem(s) and work with the sales team to provide proposals on solutions that address the need. u2022 Design and develop automated solutions around the Siemens EDA product line that can address the customeru2019s need. u2022 Collect and communicate customer feedback, competitive information, and general field intelligence back to the R&D teams with the goal of aligning product direction and roadmaps to the customer needs within the territory. Job Qualification: u2022 BS Degree or equivalent u2022 Prior experience in Signal Integrity / Power Integrity / Electromagnetics with design or Applications Engineering u2022 Python / VBScript automation skills u2022 2+ years of related experience in SI, PI, EM for IC, Package, or PCB design u2022 Excellent communication skills u2022 Professional customer presence u2022 Business travel required (approximately 30%) This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidateu2019s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
