Powder Coating Technician

NY1547272 Powder Coating Technician needed for Fiber Instrument Sales in Oriskany, NY. Pay rate is $15.50 per hour. Key Responsibilities Surface Preparation: to include cleaning, degreasing, sanding, and masking parts to ensure proper adhesion of the powder coating. Powder Application: setting up and operating powder coating equipment, including spray guns to apply the powder evenly to parts. Curing: loading and unloading coated parts into a high-temperature oven for the powder to cure and form a durable, baked-on finish. Quality Control: inspecting parts during and after the powder coating process to ensure they meet manufacturing and customer quality standards. Equipment & Area Maintenance: performing routine maintenance on powder coating equipment and keeping the work area clean and organized. Safety Compliance: adhering to all safety guidelines, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and handling cleaning chemicals and other materials safely. Material Management: monitoring and managing the usage/inventory of powder coating materials and supplies. Required Skills and Qualifications Physical Stamina: The ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift objects for extended periods. Hand-Eye Coordination: Manual dexterity to handle equipment and apply powder with precision. Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in preparing parts and inspecting for quality. Safety Awareness: A thorough understanding of safety procedures and the ability to follow them rigorously. Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of operating and maintaining powder coating equipment. Color Vision: The ability to distinguish between different shades and colors. Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to understand instructions and communicate with colleagues.
