MDW is seeking highly qualified Senior Financial Analystto provide support to the Comptroller Office of our Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) client. DARPA's mission is to maintain the technological superiority of the U.S. military and prevent technological surprise from harming our national security by sponsoring revolutionary, high payoff research that bridges the gap between fundamental discoveries and their military use. MDW's specific client, the DARPA Comptroller, is the nucleus of corporate fiscal activities. Must be able to be on site at least 2 days a week at the DARPA site in Arlington VA. The Senior Financial Analystmay perform a combination of some or all of the following duties: - The Financial Analyst will work with the Comptroller's Budget Analysts in support of DARPA technical offices. Providing tier 1 financial help desk assistance to the technical offices for fiscal, budgetary, and procurement matters. Primary duties may include reviewing, analyzing and creating funding documents; tracking of internal and external documents; direct interaction with executing Agents to ensure accurate and timely processing; updating and maintaining financial systems; preparing ad hoc reports. - Tasks range from providing Comptroller's guidance for financial questions, or assisting the technical office contractors or government personnel to troubleshot budgetary, execution, or financial system related issues. Assisting to resolve financial issues or answer questions, directing to correct Points of contact, or providing past experience or examples that resolved similar issues. - Analysis of dormant funding documents regarding commitments, obligations, and expenditures; with internal DARPA financial staff and external agents to validate the continued need for funding. Compile financial execution information from available systems, and provide weekly metrics and status updates. Required Experience/Skills: - Analyze and evaluate complex textual and/or quantitative information in order to make comparisons among alternatives or to make recommendations for corrections or improvements in process, operations, or policies - Experience with automated systems to include database maintenance and reporting - Ability to extract and report reliable data - Sound oral and written communications skills - Experience communicating with various levels of personnel - Ability to anticipate, project, and plan accordingly - Knowledge of accounting principles and DoD financial policies and directives - Ability to analyze and prepare financial documents in compliance with the DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR) - Ability to identify and resolve complex problems. ```{=html} ``` - Experience with Defense Agency Initiative (DAI) Education Requirement/Required Years of Experience: - BA/BS degree - A minimum of 5 years of general experience Security Requirement(s): - Candidates for this position must possess a US DoD Secret Clearance Company Description Incorporated in 2012, MDW is a small business headquartered in Washington, DC with offices in Huntsville, AL.
