Coordinates nursing unit communication andactivities with physicians, nursing staff, other departments,professional staff, patients, and families related to patient care. TheHealth Unit Coordinator manages the desk area of the inpatient unit,facilitating the use of technology and coordinating downtime procedures.Other information: EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None. EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Aminimum of 6 months experience as a Health Unit Coordinator ispreferred. EDUCATION REQUIRED: Medical terminology knowledge required ormust satisfactorily complete course within first 6 months of employment.EDUCATION PREFERRED: High School diploma or equivalent is pletion of formal Health Unit Coordinator training program ispreferred. TRAINING REQUIRED: None. TRAINING PREFERRED: None. SPECIALSKILLS REQUIRED: Must have the ability to adapt to changes in a fastpaced work environment. Exemplary telephone etiquette and customerservice skills are required. Must possess analytical skills to gatherand interpret routine data, maintain semi-complex records and organizework.
