Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilledMaterial Handling Equipment Technician!The Mechanic is responsible for timely repair and maintenance of light - heavy duty fleet vehicles, trailers, and various equipment to ensure a safe and efficient operation. This position is multi function. The majority of the work will be on Forklifts, Crown stand up lifts, and Big Joe walk behind lifts. Strong knowledge of the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of these three types of units. The mechanic position also requires a high level of proficiency and working knowledge related to diesel engine diagnostics, brakes, tires, AC, and PM services.Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday: $40.00-$55.00 per hour / (DOE)2nd Shift: Monday - Friday: 2:00pm - 10:30pmThe Benefits of Belonging - What’s in it for you?Full benefits within 30 daysMedical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, life insurance, disability insurance401(k) match programPaid vacation, holidays, and sick timeCommitment to your safety through boot and prescription safety glasses reimbursementCareer and learning development with an extensive training program through our Amerit UniversityEmployee referral program, up to $1,000 bonusASE certification program with fee reimbursement and bonusEmployee recognition platform that includes opportunities to redeem points for merchandiseEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)24/7 nurse triage lineEmployee discounts on cell phone service and entertainment ticketsEmployee resource groups (ERGs) that foster inclusionWellness and fitness programs through our providersEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe majority of the work will be on Forklifts, Crown stand up lifts, and Big Joe walk behind lifts.Strong knowledge of the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of these three types of units.Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to a fleet of light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty trucks.The fleet also includes CAT equipment, generators, aerials, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.Perform services and repairs to diesel engines, brakes, tires, AC, and regular PM services are required.Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computerPerform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation requiredComply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/proceduresInspect and perform work on the under parts of vehiclesAccess any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenanceMove parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehiclesInteract with clients through both email and phone as necessaryPerform other duties as requiredKey Competencies and Minimum EducationAt least 5 years’ experience performing vehicle maintenance or must possess auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical schoolExperience servicing and repairing CAT equipment, generators, aerials, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment - highly desiredExperience with Peterbilt, Kenworth, Ford, Chevy Linde, Hyster assets preferredASE Certifications preferredCommercial Driver’s License Class - A (Preferred)Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properlyMust provide own hand tools & toolbox.Knowledge of handheld scan tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles.Ability to read schematics and familiar with processProficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and EmailStrong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)Working ConditionsExposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritantsAccess any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenanceAbility to move and position heavy objects.Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehiclesAbility to work outside in various weather conditions.Are you ready to advance your career as a MHE Mechanic/Technician with Amerit Fleet Solutions?
