Job Description

Waters is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Import/Export Operations Coordinator to join the Trade Operations Team in Franklin MA. This individual will be a member of a professional group responsible for the efficient and compliant movement of goods into and leaving the US, with a strong emphasis on managing Non-Resident Importer (NRI) related responsibilities. The Import/Export Operations Coordinator interfaces directly with customs brokers, third party logistics providers, as well as international vendors to ensure timely clearance and delivery of goods while complying with Waters policies and applicable government regulations. The group is also responsible for managing the Waters Foreign Trade Zone - ensuring the program is compliant with US Customs regulations. The decisions made by this group have direct impact on the legal standing for the company as a whole.Communicate with internal customers, international subsidiaries, distributors, vendors, brokers, and carriers to ensure efficient movement of goods into the USMaintain working relationship with foreign vendors to ensure inbound shipments adhere to Waters procedures and government regulationsCoordinate customer returns from foreign subsidiaries and distributorsManage appropriate import documentation including customs declarations, invoices, licenses, Partner Government Agency documentation, Mill Certificates, etc.Audit shipping documentation generated outside the Import Department for accuracy and completenessInterface with customs brokers and carriers to resolve problems at import and proactively resolving problems independentlyAudit Customs entries for accurate tariff classifications, country of origin and valuation Conduct required entry activities to correct discrepancies.Analyze and report on various aspects of the importation processReporting shipments to Customs in ACE/GTS systemsPerform Quarterly Accruals for Finance Department to capture freight/duty costs at End of QuarterServe as the operational point of contact for Non-Resident Importer (NRI) shipments, ensuring all requirements are met for customs clearance at destinationSupport internal audits and assist with maintaining compliance with customs requirements for the NRI programHandle logistical processes in the NRI plants and orchestrate efficient flow of incoming and outgoing goods through the NRI plantsAdministrative processing of shipments in the system (SAP)Maintain shipment tracker, KPIs and metrics for NRI plantsMaintain relationship with third party logistics providers - signing off on CTPAT Questionnaire/staying current on contract renewalsExecution of all Flight Data details (tracking/consolidation notes)Bachelor’s degree in business or at least 5-7 years’ import/trade related experienceForeign Trade Zone knowledge/experience encouraged Knowledge of US import/export regulationsExperience with international freight forwarding process and supply chainExperience in SAP is highly desired with strong systems aptitudeExcellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact within all levels at WatersDetail oriented and demonstrates exceptional organizational skillsAbility to prioritize, multitask and maintain flexibility in a fast paced, service-oriented environmentStrong Excel skills required Waters Corporation (NYSE:WAT) is a global leader in analytical instruments, separations technologies, and software, serving the life, materials, food, and environmental sciences for over 65 years.
