This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience using some of the latest and modern technologies. While helping patients feel at ease throughout treatment, you can also benefit from the wealth of professional and educational development resources offered to caregivers by Cleveland Clinic.A caregiver in this position works varying shifts, from 7:00pm—7:30am.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Monitor electrophysiological data on patients in special recording rooms and at other locations using closed circuit audio/visual equipment, electrophysiological recording instruments, surface recording electrodes and electrophysiological recording instruments.Perform long-term monitoring of adult and pediatric patients using closed circuit and digital audio/visual equipment and electro physiological recording instruments while interacting with patients.Perform all functions of a Registered EEG Technologist, including assisting physicians in the reading and interpretation of EEG and clinical seizures.Perform record keeping duties using the computer, maintain daily logs of patient status and report information to pile and forward billing information to the work leader or supervisor.Set-up for recording and stimulation of monitoring electrodes and care for patients with invasive electrodes and assists with head dressing changes for invasive monitored patients.Assist with 'Spect Scans” and physicians in research studies, protocols and documentation.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Associate’s Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics or a related patient care fieldRegistered EEG Technologist (R.EEG.T)Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red CrossOne year of recent experience in epilepsy long-term monitoringKnowledge of all areas of general EEG testing and instrumentationDemonstrated competency of long-term epilepsy monitoring techniques and interventionsOur caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
