Order#: NY1547482 Education Project ManagerGeneral DescriptionThe Education Project Manager (EPM) serves as the primary staff person responsible for advancing the work of the Education Pillar, removing systemic barriers, and achieving outcomes that improve cradle-to-career opportunities for children and families. Ideal candidates will be well-organized and energetic, able to thrive both as part of a collaborative team and independently. They will have relevant experience in public education systems and/or community-based education initiatives, with demonstrated leadership, program management, and community engagement skills. Candidates should also bring a firm sense of mission and desire to work with residents,parents, school leaders, neighborhood associations, and coalitions to contribute toward a healthy, viable, and sustainable community.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSchool-Based Collaboration Foster strong relationships with education leaders to advance a neighborhood-based feeder pattern. Build and maintain working relationships with School #33 and East High School leadership. Serve as a liaison between schools and the community. Collaborate with Community School Site Coordinators in planning and implementing parent engagement andeducation opportunities. Partner with Parent Coordinators, Home School Liaisons, PTA leadership, and community partners tostrengthen family engagement. Serve as a member of the Community Engagement Team at School #33 and the FACE team at East HighSchool.Parent, Family, and Student Engagement Design and implement parent/family engagement and student recruitment activities. Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for education pillar projects and mittee & Partnership Leadership Co-lead the Education Committee, guiding strategic goals, action planning, and measurable outcomes. Build, manage, and sustain productive relationships with committee members (parents, residents, contentexperts). Establish and maintain effective partnerships with federal, state, and local entities to align resources witheducation pillar goals.Program Operations & Reporting Manage efficient day-to-day operations of education pillar initiatives. Collect and track program data; evaluate outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement. Prepare reports as assigned; assist with grant writing, compliance reporting, and presentations. Represent Connected Communities in external settings as an advocate for equitable, high-qualityneighborhood education.Among the assets being sought are the following: Must be able to multi-task and accomplish deadlines. Demonstrated cultural competency and an equity-focused approach to community and education work.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Life Experience: Success in understanding and/or overcoming challenges of poverty required. Individualswith strong connections to the City of Rochester are preferred. Related Work Experience: 57 years of experience in education, community engagement, orparent/student programming required.
