Summary The Albany Veterans Affairs Medical Center has an opening for a full-time Endocrinology Physician. Look no further The Albany Veterans Affairs Medical Center has a full-time opportunity for an Academic Endocrinology Physician. Responsibilities The position involves inpatient and outpatient Endocrinology Medicine. The candidate will have educational responsibilities for Endocrinology fellows, Internal Medicine residents and medical students. Applicants must possess a full and unrestricted license in any state and must qualify for an academic appointment at The Albany Medical College. Duties of the position include, but are not limited to: Diagnose and treat various endocrine system disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal disorders, and pituitary disorders. Provide comprehensive endocrine care to veteran patients. Conduct outpatient clinic visits and inpatient consultations. Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare providers. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures relevant to endocrinology. Educate patients on disease management, lifestyle changes, and preventive measures. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions. Supervise and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows. Engage in research activities and contribute to medical knowledge in the field of endocrinology. Maintain accurate and complete medical records in compliance with VA policies. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards. Education Debt Reduction Program: This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Recruitment & Relocation Incentive (Sign-On Bonus): May be available to highly qualified applicants. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME). Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification). Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided. Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting. Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
