Intern will assist with maintaining laboratory equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Intern will provide support to Unit managers and Section Chief as tern will also assist other laboratory sections as needed.These sections include Safety and Security, Quality Assurance, Environment, Laboratory Operations.This will provide the intern with a well-rounded picture of KHEL and also help ensure KHEL operational needs are being met.Learn more at: Laboratories | KDHE, KSQualificationsEducation: Currently engaged in a college program/course of study toward a bachelor’s degree in natural sciences, environmental science, chemistry, or biology.Licensing & Certification:Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.Minimum Qualifications: Currently engaged in a college program/course of study toward a bachelor’s degree in natural sciences, environmental science, chemistry, or tern should be able work in a variety of weather conditions, navigate rugged or slippery terrain, and lift 25 lbs.Data management, computer skills and customer service skills.Ability to follow directions and work independently.Ability to work well with others.Ability to communicate in writing and in personal interactions.Preferred Qualifications: Able to take initiative and be motivated to help other scientists.Proofreading, editing, attention to detail.Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: State of Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate.
