About the Role The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This position manages day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger entries, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial statement preparation. The Staff Accountant plays a key role in month-end and year-end closing processes, cost accounting, and audit support. Ideal candidates will have strong knowledge of GAAP, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced business environment. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to support effective financial management and reportingEstablish, monitor, and enforce internal controls to strengthen financial decision-makingPrepare and present accurate financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss reportsManage general ledger activities including journal entries and account categorizationPerform cost accounting tasks and assist with financial analysis across departmentsReconcile bank accounts and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy of transactionsSupport accounts receivable collections and manage accounts payable including invoice verification and processingMaintain the fixed asset register and perform accurate depreciation calculationsProvide documentation and account details during external auditsCollaborate with technology providers to improve accounting systems and software functionalityAssist with compliance reporting to banking institutions and regulatory agenciesSupport payroll processing as a backup, including report preparationAllocate expenses according to company procedures and maintain detailed recordsPerform month-end and year-end close processes including preparation of supporting schedulesStay updated on current accounting practices, procedures, and GAAP requirementsComplete additional tasks as needed to support the finance team Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting or FinanceMinimum of three years of experience in accounting or finance rolesProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting softwareStrong understanding of financial and cost accounting principlesKnowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance requirementsExcellent organizational skills with strong attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skills Desired Qualifications: Proven experience in bookkeeping and financial managementAbility to collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional departmentsCommitment to timeliness, accuracy, and maintaining excellent attendanceStrong business acumen with a focus on quality and continuous improvementAbility to quickly learn and apply new accounting practices and systemsExperience working under pressure and meeting tight deadlinesDemonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of financial data
