Job Title: Construction Materials TechnicianJob DescriptionJoin a leading, employee-owned, multi-disciplined Geotechnical Engineering & Testing firm. As a Construction Materials Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and standards of construction materials at various project sites.ResponsibilitiesReview civil, architectural, and structural plans and specifications to prepare for field observations on construction sites.Document field activities, observations, and testing results on construction projects, noting conformance or deviations from project plans and specifications.Conduct field testing of concrete and soil to ensure they meet standards and specifications.Perform laboratory testing of concrete and soil municate field and laboratory testing results with Construction Services, Geotechnical Project Management staff, general contractors, and clients.Calibrate field and laboratory equipment to industry codes and standards.Essential SkillsAt least 1 year of experience working in the field, such as in construction, farming, or environmental work.Entry-level experience in construction or civil engineering.Experience with construction inspection or Construction Materials Testing (CMT), ACI certification, concrete inspection, and nuclear density gauge.High school diploma or GED.Effective communication skills in reading and writing.Proficiency in math and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.Ability to routinely lift 20 to 40 lbs for field and lab samples and equipment.Willingness to work outdoors.Additional Skills & QualificationsConstruction Materials Testing (CMT) experience is preferred.Familiarity with ISO standards is preferred.One or more active certificates such as Field Testing Grade 1, Strength Testing Technician, or Aggregate Testing is preferred.If no ACI Certification, concrete testing experience is required.Work EnvironmentThe work primarily takes place in the field on construction sites, with occasional work in a laboratory setting. The environment is typical of a construction site, which can be dirty and requires appropriate attire. The worksite is located in Glendale, KY.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Albany, Indiana.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
