Adjunct Faculty: HVACJob no: 492322Closes: Work Type: Faculty - Part TimeLocations: Morgan City, LA, Opelousas, LACategories: Workforce Development & EducationCollege:SLCCDepartment:Workforce & Economic Development Sub department:Corporate College Campus Location:SLCC TH Harris and Young Memorial Campuses Type of Appointment:Unclassified - Adjunct Salary:Commensurate with Experience Duties and Responsibilities: • Providing and supporting classroom instruction for the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program.• Maintaining a safe, orderly and up-to-date lab area for the application of multiple labs within the HVAC curriculum.• Developing and maintaining professional relations with the industry through industry visits and advisory committee meetings.• Maintaining office hours for student consultations.• Preparing and providing course syllabi and instructional materials to students.• Evaluating and reviewing students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.• Keeping appropriate records of testing and grading, as per college standards.• Utilizing technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, communicate with others and facilitate learning.• Maintaining student discipline through effective classroom management.• Attaining, maintaining and reviewing program certification requirements, as appropriate.• Fulfilling professional assignments in accordance with the South Louisiana Community College calendar and contractual obligations.• Partner with Business and Industry to promote HVAC program. Required Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree with at least three (3) years of directly-related occupational experience and skill in the field to be taught,orAn Associate’s Degree and four (4) years of occupational experience and skill in the field to be taught,orA relevant Certificate and five (5) years of occupational experience and skill in the field to be taught,orSeven (7) years work experience in the teaching field to be taught and additionally must have relevant current professional certification and or licensure in the field to be taught and must have appropriate educational qualifications, as determined by the relevant programmatic accreditation agency. Passing pre-employment criminal background and drug screen are required as a condition of employment.
