COME WORK WITH A GREAT TEAM!Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities for both full-time and part-time cashiers include, but are not limited to, the following:1. Excellent customer service- both on the sales floor, in assigned departments, on the telephone, and at the register2. Knowledge of inventory and locations of items. Direct customers to appropriate product/ department 3. Operate cash register/ Point of Sale terminal4. Greet customers and provide courteous customer assistance as necessary5. Keep check-out area neat and clean6. Handle incoming phone calls7. Price or re-price merchandise as necessary8. Maintain needed forms and stock for cashier area9. Screen credit cards and checks before acceptance10. Train new staff in cashier responsibilities11. Understanding of the store’s overall goals and how you fit into and affect them12. Knowledge of register and other equipment as required13. Watch for shoplifters and notify appropriate management14. Attend store meetings 15. Participate in training as directed16. Other tasks and responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Department Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager, or owners 17. Set a positive example by following company proceduresQualificationsMust be able to:• Lift/ move 50 lbs (low).
