Apply now and join a community that improves people’s lives, the planet and our company’s performance by transforming renewable resources into products people depend on every day.Position Title: Facility BuyerPay Rate: $65,100 - $86,800Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.Category/Shift: Salaried Full-Time Physical Location: 601 County Rd 78Selma, AlThe Job You Will Perform:Perform procurement and storeroom support functions at the Riverdale Mill in Selma, AL to secure goods and services for the facility in accordance with purchasing policy and delegated authority to maximize total value received and produce results that contribute to the meeting of the facility’s business objectives. The position reports to the Mill Purchasing Manager and will be located at the Riverdale Mill.Provide safety leadership through modeling of safe behaviors and ensuring employee adherence to all mill safety requirements and expectationsProvide prompt and professional purchasing services to internal customers by communicating effectively with the Operations, Engineering, Finance and MaintenanceDemonstrate knowledge of purchasing and storeroom SAP functions including PO creation, expediting, problem solving, facilitate and manage vendor updates Promptly handle requisitions to ensure stable supply and timely availability of materials and service and follow up with vendors regarding order statusDeliver value to the mill through effective procurement activities at the local level as well as ensuring implementation and adherence of Global Sourcing agreementsPrepare and publish specifications for bids, prepare and evaluate bid responses, verify history of supplier service and ability to meet contract specifications, and negotiate contractsDevelop an effective supplier base by cultivating supplier relationships through reviews of operations and mutually beneficial programsImplement Global Sourcing Agreements and strategies for purchasing and materials management processes at the unit levelObtain maximum value for IP regarding cost, quality, delivery and service levels through methods such as negotiationSupport Corporate agreements consistent with Global Sourcing directionTrack and report supplier performance and escalate supplier issues as appropriateAssist with reconciliation of invoicesPursue opportunities to consolidate purchases and competitively source materials under local, regional, and national contractsProvide backup and vacation relief to other team membersEnsure adherence to IP Corporate financial and purchasing policies and proceduresSupport raw materials inventory management and orderingWork with vendors, corporate teams, mill stakeholders, and Accounts Payable to resolve invoice issues presented through email, PINS, blocked invoice report, GRIR reportMust be able to wear all required personal safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, hearing protection, and fall protection in elevated positionsWill be required to work extended hours as neededMust be available to provide after hours, weekend, and holiday call, will be based on rotating schedule.The Skills You Will Bring:Minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing, including bidding, negotiating, and administering contracts and agreementsPulp and Paper Mill experience is preferred.
