Family Support Caregiver

*Now Hiring - Family Caregiver Consultant** Full-Time Position Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Starting Salary Range: Based on experience Southwestern Commission Area Agency on Aging with offices located in Sylva, NC serving a 7-county region, is seeking a qualified individual with a bachelors degree in the areas of gerontology, social work, sociology, public policy or other closely related fields. A minimum of one-year experience in the field of aging or long-term care is preferred. Principal responsibilities will be in the areas of advocacy, planning, outreach, information and assistance, caregiver assistance, training, education, monitoring, research, resource development, and successful operation of various programs in aging and long-term care policy development and implementation. Must be able to work independently assisting caregivers in gaining access to services; coordinating respite services; care management; facilitating support groups; caregiver training; and administration of programs under the National Family Caregiver Support Program.
