Job Title: Controls Engineer Job Description As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for generating controls schematics for automation and testing systems, developing system concepts for new applications, and analyzing existing machines to improve controls for better uptime or throughput. You will also handle electrical load requirements for sizing power supplies and contactors, specify components for machine controls, develop controls that meet current safety standards, and program machine controls using PLCs, robots, servos, and Visual Basic. Responsibilities + Generate controls schematics for automation and testing systems. + Develop system concepts for new applications. + Analyze existing machines and improve controls to enhance uptime or throughput. + Determine electrical load requirements for power supplies, contactors, etc. + Specify components for machine controls. + Develop controls adhering to current safety standards. + Program machine controls, including PLCs, robots, servos, and Visual Basic. Essential Skills + PLC programming experience. + Experience with automation and electrical troubleshooting. + Proficiency in AutoCAD and robotics. + Motion control programming. + Vision system and barcode programming. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Positive, self-motivated attitude. + Ability to work effectively in a team environment. + Experience with Visual Basic programming is a plus. Work Environment The work environment is primarily focused on custom builds, with some consistently built machines. You will be part of a small, skilled team within the controls group, working alongside two high-level programmers. This role involves hands-on experience with custom-built systems, providing an opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Apex, North Carolina. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $57.00/hr.
