At KPMG, we believe nothing is more important than investing in our culture because it's an investment in our people, our future, and what we stand for as a firmKPMG is currently seeking a Senior Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice.Responsibilities:Provide tax compliance services to partnerships for Asset Management clientsDeliver exceptional client service to multi-state companies with state and local tax issues including compliance, advisory services, planning, technology, and controversiesAssist multi-state companies with state and local tax controversies which includes preparing clients for discussions with auditors, representing the client at hearings and appeal meetings, and preparing protestsResearch and draft technical memoranda regarding state and local tax questionsAid with the business development, management, and delivery of SALT services, and provide assistance and oversight on large client project engagementsSupervise, mentor, and develop staff members and teamsAdditional responsibilities for Senior Manager:Assist multi-state companies with analyzing state tax considerations/impacts related to business restructuring projects and intercompany transactionsDevelop cross-functional relationships within the firmQualifications:Minimum five years of recent experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on multi-state tax issuesBachelor's degree from an accredited college/universityLicensed CPA, EA, JD/LLM or MTX, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials; should you like to see the complete list of currently approved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, your recruiter can provide you with that listAble to develop business and foster client relationshipsAbility and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment, and excellent writing, communication, and tax research skillsPrior experience in Partnership and/or Asset ManagementAdditional qualifications for Senior Manager:Minimum eight years of recent experience in providing tax research and technical advice on multi-state issuesStrong knowledge of the development, planning, and execution of client deliveryExperience with various other state and local taxesKPMG complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges.
