Element has an opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team in Troy, MI. Element Troy provides testing and engineering services to manufacturers and leading suppliers in the passenger car, light truck, bus, off-highway, and military vehicle sectors. Its range of capabilities includes component and system testing, system simulation, engine performance, and full vehicle structural testing.Interpret and integrate Design Verification Plans & Reports (DVP&Rs) into comprehensive, actionable test plans involving servo-hydraulic systems and related test setupsRun single and multi-channel monotonic and fatigue testing, as well as multi-channel simulation systems (MAST, 4-Post, 329, or custom simulators) using MTS RPC Pro software and MTS servo-hydraulic equipment (FlexTest, 458, 407, etc.)Use RLDA and strain gage-based instrumentation (loadcell, torque cells, custom transducers) as well as general instrumentation (accelerometers, loadcells, LVDT’s, RVDT’s, pressure transducers, thermocouples, etc.)Manage multiple testing programs, track progress and completion status, and provide weekly updates and forecasts to leadershipMaintain daily customer communication, host weekly project meetings, and document all discussions and deliverablesSupport calibration and development activities to improve data accuracy and testing performance (preferred but not required)Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineeringMinimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering or testingProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred but not requiredDemonstrated problem-solving ability in resolving technical and operational challenges during test executionStrong computer skills, including data acquisition, analysis, and reporting tools#LI-TF1Element is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
